Based on the Brahms Horn Trio, Op.40 in which a horn replaces the conventional cello, the Morton Trio are a very successful classical trio based in Christchurch, New Zealand. This album features the Op. 40 Brahms; an arrangement of the Brahms Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major; and an outstanding original composition by violinist Arna Morton. Infectious performances of these works, recorded at The Piano venue in Christchurch NZ, confirm the Morton Trio as a leading addition to the New Zealand classical chamber music scene.
